Crowding
With crowding, the teeth overlap one another. In some cases the misalignment is so pronounced that teeth stand almost one behind the other.
Gaps between teeth
Gaps between the teeth often considerably affect the appearance, the smile and how well the teeth function.
Open bite
With an open bite, the front teeth of the upper and lower jaw don’t touch each other — even when you bite down.
Protrusion
When the front teeth “tip out” forwards, this is called protrusion. It is often associated with inflammation of the gums.
Crossbite
With a lateral crossbite, the lower back teeth bite over the upper back teeth.
Overjet
Here the lower jaw sits too far back, leaving a gap between the upper and lower incisors.
Underbite
With an underbite, the lower jaw bites too far in front of the upper jaw. The incisors sometimes meet edge to edge.
Cover bite
The cover bite is a special type of distal bite. Some of the upper front teeth tilt backwards and the others tilt forwards.

How do invisible aligners work?
Aligners are clear trays for the lower and/or upper jaw. We make several of these aligners for you, perfectly made to measure, and you wear each one for around 14 days. Their shape moves your teeth a little further into the desired position day by day, until with the last aligners you’ve reached your goal and your dream smile. Sounds like magic, but it’s simply high tech.

Ideally, you wear the aligners around the clock and only take them out to eat and brush your teeth. That way, you not only get used to your aligners straight away, but you also reach a successful result most reliably.
Generally every 14 days. If it’s different in your case, your Eltz specialist will tell you exactly.
Treatment time with aligners (invisible braces) ranges from 4 months for simple gaps or crowding to 24 months for very complex tooth and jaw misalignments. We can tell you how long it will take in your case as early as the free initial consultation.
The costs of removable aligners are generally based on the autonomous fee guidelines of the Austrian Dental Chamber (Zahnärztekammer) and are therefore predefined. Depending on the type and severity of the misalignment, the amount comes out slightly differently, so it can’t be stated exactly before the free initial consultation.
Of course — at the Eltz Institut we even offer financing for up to 60 months. Most of our patients really appreciate our straightforward payment in instalments.
The Eltz Institut is one of the certified orthodontic institutes. If your health insurance fund or insurer pays a subsidy towards orthodontic treatment, you can claim it at our institute. We help you get the maximum possible reimbursement.

Treatment with invisible aligners is almost pain-free. When you switch to a new aligner, you may feel some pressure, but for most patients this goes away within a few minutes. You don’t need to fear typical dentist pain — there’s none of that with us!
You come in for a check-up roughly every two to three months. It only takes a few minutes, and we make sure that your treatment is going perfectly.
